Uniform Policy

UNIFORMS ARE MANDATORY
 
 

The philosophy of the Wynbrooke Traditional Theme Schools is to offer students a comprehensive, interdisciplinary program in a highly structured setting. Emphasis is placed on high academic standards and a strict Rights and Responsibilities. Part of this strict Rights and Responsibilities is a mandatory uniform policy. The dress and appearance of the students should always be neat and proper, as it reflects both home and school. Parents are also asked to model appropriate dress for our students. Please refrain from wearing pajamas, house shoes, tight and suggestive attire when inside the school building. Your efforts to be neatly dressed in the presence of our students and staff are greatly appreciated.

Shirts:  Light blue, light Yellow, or White
 
 Jumpers:  Navy, Khaki, Plaid #41
 
   
 
Girls


GIRLS

Jumpers: Navy, khaki, or plaid #41 

= must be a uniform plain jumper without a collar

= must be long enough for the student’s index finger to reach the hem of the garment while standing.

= NO long skirts

 
Split skirts: Navy, khaki, or plaid #41 

= no long skirts

= no ruffles at the bottom

= must be long enough for the student’s index finger to reach the hem of the garment while standing.

  = skirts with belt loops must be worn with a belt (plain black or brown). 

Pants/Walking Shorts: Navy or khaki 

= pants with belt loops must be worn with a belt (plain black or brown).

= Shorts must be long enough for the student’s index finger to reach the hem of the garment while standing.


Socks: Navy, khaki, light yellow or white (NO MULTI-COLORED) 

= must wear tights or socks 

= socks must show at the ankles (NO FOOTIES OR NO SHOW SOCKS)

 

Tights: Navy, white or flesh tone (NO MULTI-COLORED) 
  = no multi-colored
  = no footless tights
  = no leggings nor jeggings
  

 
Shoes: Black, dark brown or navy (NO MULTI-COLORED) 

= no visible logos/brand names

= closed toe, rubber sole shoes are required

= uniform shoes 

= must be flat (NO HEELS) uniform shoes

= no multi-colored sole

= no boots of any kind

 

GYM shoes are to be worn for PE class and may be of any color
 

 

SHIRTS/BLOUSES MUST HAVE A COLLAR AND BE TUCKED AT ALL TIMES.

Blouses: Light blue, light yellow or white. 

= plain without decorations

= Peter Pan style

= Blouses must be worn with a tie.

Polo Shirts: light blue, light yellow, or white
 
Pullover Sweaters: Navy or White
 
Jackets: Navy or black (no logos)

= worn to and from school may be any color  


Vests: Navy, white, or plaid #41
 

Ties/Cross bows: Navy or plaid #41

Hair bows/Ribbons: Navy, khaki, yellow, white, light blue, plaid #41 or clear 

Hijab: Navy, white, or black

Belts: Black or brown (no multi-colored)

Jewelry: 

= Girls may wear small earrings (no hoops) 

= one earring per ear 

= No other jewelry may be worn

 

Hair: must be YOUR OWN NATURAL HAIR COLOR and worn neat 

Respect for Religion
--all coverings must be of school colors
--hijabs - white, light yellow, light blue, khaki, or black
--uniform attire
--tights/socks - white, navy, light yellow, or khaki
--under shirts must match the worn uniform shirt 
   light yellow under shirts for a light yellow polo shirt
 
Boys

Sweaters: Navy, light yellow, or white

Jackets or Coats: Navy or black
  = no logos

= may be worn in the hallways or classrooms

= worn to and from school may be of any color


Vests: Navy or plaid #41


Ties: navy or plaid #41

Socks: Navy, khaki, black or white 

= no multi-colored

= no high basketball socks

 

Shoes: Black or Brown (NO MULTI-COLORED) 

= no visible logos/brand names

= closed toe, rubber sole shoes are required

= uniform shoes 

= no multi-colored sole

= no boots of any kind

 

GYM shoes are to be worn for PE class and may be of any color including their all black or dark brown athletic shoes

Belts: black or brown (no multi-colored)

Jewelry: 

= BOYS may NOT wear earrings. 

= No other jewelry may be worn 

 

Hair:

= must be of a NATURAL HAIR COLOR (no blue, orange, purple, red, etc.)

  = no yarn of any color

= worn neat

UNIFORM VIOLATIONS

  • The following steps will be taken in the event that a student is found to be in violation of the uniform policy:
  •       A call will be made by the teacher to parents to request that a change of clothes be brought for the student.
  •       If the parent cannot come to bring a change of clothes, the student will be sent to the School Nurse to swap for an appropriate uniform item.
  •       The student will not receive their item of clothing back until the borrowed item is returned to School Nurse.
  •       A Uniform Violation Notice will be sent home to parents.

UNIFORM INSPECTIONS

In order to encourage consistent adherence to the uniform policy and minimize distractions, the following will be done:

  •       Formal inspections by administrators
  •       Impromptu inspections by Uniform Committee members
  •       Incentives and awards for classes with the largest percentages of uniform policy compliance
