Weekly Update - November 9-13

Wynbrooke: Weekly Updates for November 9th-13th

Greetings Wynbrooke Parents

Please take time to read the attached letter from our superintendent, Dr. Green, regarding our GA Milestone scores that will soon be released. We will hold several town hall meetings with parents next month to help parents understand the results, the scoring rubrics and ways to work with your child at home. We will also share more information about our plan of action in response to the data.

Please make plans to attend our next PTA Meeting which is scheduled for Tuesday, November 10th at 6:00 pm. The meeting will be held in the cafeteria. We would like for all parents to attend.

Great News! Our Fall Book Fair opened today and will remain open until Friday! This is a great opportunity for you to build your child’s library at home while also supporting the school. Students will be visiting the Book Fair with their class throughout the week.

Our next Student of the Month Celebration will take place in December and will recognize our November and December Honorees. We apologize for the inconvenience. You will receive notification once the new date has been scheduled.

Our Thanksgiving Holiday Luncheons are scheduled for Tuesday, November 17th-Thursday, November 19th. Please visit the school website for the exact date of your child’s luncheon. We hope that you will make plans to attend.

Safety Reminders:

Parents, we have major concerns with the way in which many of you travel on our campus. Excessive speed; parking in no parking zones; dropping students off in the bus loading zone when buses are unloading; leaving students unsupervised before the school opens, and being uncooperative with personnel and parent volunteers who are on duty to serve our students are all problematic behaviors. These incidents are occurring daily on our campus and do not reflect the Wynbrooke Way. Please understand that each time one of the aforementioned incidents occur, the safety of a Wynbrooke student is compromised. Please be courteous. Let’s work together to ensure that Wynbrooke remains a safe and orderly environment for everyone!

Students can be dropped off no earlier than 7:00 am near the gymnasium. Parents are allowed to drop off their student in the bus loading zone after 7:20 am once all buses have unloaded and departed from campus.

If you need to enter the building during the morning hours, you must park in the rear of the school. At no time should cars be parked in the bus loading zone. This impedes the flow of traffic on our campus and slows down the process of cars entering and exiting our campus.

All visitors must sign in at the front office and wear a visitor's badge during your visit on campus.

Let’s work together to make this a great week for our students.

Jermain Sumler-Faison, Principal
