Weekly Update - September 26

Good Afternoon Wynbrooke Parents

We are looking forward to a great week of teaching and learning! Please take a moment to review the information below so that you can plan accordingly.

Please join us in keeping Wynbrooke Safe for ALL students and faculty. It is critically important that you report to the main office upon arrival on our campus to sign in and to receive a visitor's badge. We must be able to account for all adults who visit the school each day. Given the times that we are living in, I'm certain that you understand and appreciate our efforts to keep your child and ALL Wynbrooke students and staff SAFE.

Be mindful of our efforts to protect the instructional time of our students by limiting classroom parent visits during the instructional day. If there is a need for you to conference with your child's teacher, please request a conference so that you have adequate time to discuss your child's performance or behavior in class.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, it is necessary for us to change the date of our Annual Title I Parent Meeting. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 28th at 5:30 pm in the cafeteria. Further explanation will be provided at the meeting. Please plan to attend so that you can review our Schoolwide Title I Plan, Budget and Parental Involvement Opportunities for the 2016-2017 school year.

As discussed during Curriculum Night, our school district is in the process of accreditation review with AdvancED. Your feedback is a critical component of the process. Please take time to complete the survey using the link below. You can also access the link to the survey on our school website.

Parent Volunteer Opportunities

If you are available on Tuesday between 1:00 -3:00 pm, we are in need of assistance. Please volunteer to assist with ensuring student supervision during dismissal and during our students' transition to ASEDP. If you plan to assist, please report to the front office for your assignment.

We are also in need of parents to help with the upkeep of the garden area. The planting beds need the weeds pulled out in order for us to plant seeds. If you are available to assist, please wear gardening attire and bring gardening equipment such as, gloves, lawn bags, weed eaters, etc. Please see Ms. C. Morris for guidance on how to assist.

This Friday will be our first school wide PBIS store where students can cash in their STARbucks. The students are really excited and can't wait. We are attaching the link where you can find the items needed for the store. The store will be held the last Friday of every month. All of the items can be found at your neighborhood Wal-Mart. If you can't donate this time there are 8 more months for you to get your contributions in. The donations will be attached to volunteer hours. Please bring in the items for this month’s store no later than Thursday. Please drop the items off to 3rd grade Ms. Muhammad or 5th grade Mrs. Robinson. P.S If you can't find the exact item you can get something similar.

Thanks for all your support,
PBIS Team
